Repeat Clients Rock

I think every independent midwife (and TBF also some NHS midwives who work within continuity provision) will know the absolutely joy that is having repeat clients!

For IMs it is especially wonderful as it means that the family is choosing you again, proactively.

We are often the first or one of the first people to know of the new pregnancy 😳

And it also means other things that make the second (or third or forth etc etc) time round really special!

Relationships are already well established, no need to go over previous histories, other children already feel comfortable with the midwife (or the midwife was one of the first people they ever saw/heard/interacted with ☺️) and we are already aware of each other’s preferences and quirks!

For the midwife it means even more awareness what is and isn’t normal for this particular person, and that IMO makes giving care even safer than it might otherwise be.

For me, repeat clients are the absolute highlight of midwifing families and I’m so happy to have several repeat clients on my books right now ☺️.

It also means you get midwife proposals like this occasionally ♥️♥️♥️
